Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku's second season premiered on Crunchyroll in January 2026, delivering on the "winter 2026 comeback" MAPPA had confirmed months earlier, complete with a new key visual and a Queen Bee-performed ending theme that fans had been tracking since the season was first greenlit back in mid-2023.
The gap between seasons was long enough that Season 2 arrived carrying real expectations — the first run left Gabimaru and the other death-row convicts stranded on an island where the plants, animals, and "Tensen" inhabitants are actively trying to kill them in pursuit of an elixir of immortality, and the manga's following arcs only escalate what that premise means in practice.
Season 2 pushes further into the island's mythology and the Tensen's internal hierarchy, while keeping Gabimaru and Sagiri's partnership as the emotional center of a story that could easily have become pure gore-for-gore's-sake. The horror elements stayed intact — this is still a series built around body horror and visceral combat — but the character writing is what's kept it from being just another survival-horror shonen.
As of this fall there's no confirmed Season 3, though series creator Yuji Kaku has mentioned other projects in the works, which usually means nothing concrete until a studio actually announces something. For now, Season 2's ending leaves the island's central mystery very much open, which is exactly where longtime readers of the manga expected the anime to land.
