Kaiju No. 8 announced at Jump Festa 2026 that its anime adaptation will carry Kafka Hibino's story through to the end via a newly named 'Conclusion Arc' — confirmation that the anime isn't stopping short of the manga's actual finale, which is good news given how often long-running shounen adaptations stall out well before the source material wraps up.

The timing lines up: the manga itself ended its run on Shonen Jump+ in July 2025, and Season 2 of the anime premiered that same month, on July 19, with a real-time global simulcast on X. The Conclusion Arc announcement is the next confirmed step after that, though the panel at Jump Festa didn't attach a season number, a release date, or a studio statement to it — just the name and the commitment that the story gets finished.

Alongside it, the panel revealed a spin-off short titled 'Narumi no Heijitsu' ('Narumi's Weekday'), centered on Captain Gen Narumi — the series' imposing, fan-favorite anti-kaiju commander. No premise has actually been confirmed beyond the title and focus character; the reasonable assumption is that it shows Narumi off the battlefield, but that's an inference from the title, not an announced synopsis.

What's confirmed, in short: the anime is committed to finishing the story, a Narumi-focused short is coming alongside it, and essentially every logistical detail — timing, season structure, where to watch — is still unannounced. Treat anything more specific you see elsewhere as a guess until Shueisha or the anime's official channels say otherwise.
