My Hero Academia's 'More' Epilogue Aired in May. Here's What It Actually Added

The main series ended at chapter 430. This bonus episode exists specifically to adapt the one chapter it didn't.

My Hero Academia's television anime wrapped its eighth and final season in December 2025 — but the story got one more piece of animation anyway. 'More,' billed internally as 'episode 170+1,' premiered May 2, 2026, streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide outside Asia, produced by Bones Films as part of the franchise's 10th-anniversary celebrations.

The reason it exists is specifically that the TV anime's final season adapted the manga only through chapter 430 — 'More' adapts chapter 431, the additional epilogue chapter that was tacked onto the manga's final compiled volume rather than its weekly Shonen Jump run. That makes it closer to a missing-scene coda than a continuation of the plot: official material around the episode describes it following the cast into adulthood, with particular focus on Izuku Midoriya's fast-rising career as a Pro Hero.

'More' was announced back in December 2025 at Jump Festa 2026 alongside the rest of the anniversary push, which is bigger than just this one episode. The anniversary's official date is April 3, 2026; a 'My Hero Academia in Concert' world tour, pairing composer Yūki Hayashi's score with a live orchestra and anime footage, kicked off May 30, 2026; and a teaser campaign ran ten illustrations tracking Izuku's growth from a Quirkless middle schooler to the top hero in the country.

None of this reopens the story — it's a closing gesture, not a setup for more episodes. If you watched the finale and wondered whether there was anything left to see, 'More' is the answer: one chapter's worth of extra material, dressed up as the centerpiece of a decade-long anniversary.
