Oshi no Ko's third season ended its run in March 2026 with an extended, hour-long finale episode, and within days the production confirmed a fourth season that will serve as the anime's final one — closing out a story that's spent three seasons unpacking the uglier machinery behind Japan's idol and entertainment industry.
The timing lines up with the manga's own endgame. Creators Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari had already announced the manga would wrap up in just a handful of chapters, and the anime's move to a confirmed final season tracks with a source material that's now visibly racing toward its last beats rather than expanding outward.
Season 3 kept Aqua and Ruby's long game — unraveling who killed their mother and why — moving forward while giving Ruby's idol-group storyline real room to breathe, which has been the show's trickiest balancing act since Season 1: it's simultaneously a mystery-thriller about a murder and a fairly sincere drama about what it costs to become famous as a teenager.
A final-season confirmation this early, before Season 4 even has a release window, is a stronger signal than most studios give. It means the story's ending is locked rather than open-ended, and after three seasons spent building toward Aqua and Ruby's reckoning with their mother's death, the manga and anime are now both visibly heading toward the same finish line at close to the same time.
