Solo Leveling Season 3: What's Actually Confirmed, and What's Just a Rumor
A-1 Pictures has said almost nothing since Season 2 wrapped. Here's what's real, what's speculation, and why the wait might be longer than fans are hoping.

Solo Leveling turned into one of the biggest anime adaptations of the past two years almost immediately — Season 1 premiered in January 2024 through A-1 Pictures and built a global audience fast enough that Season 2, covering the Jeju Island arc, followed in January 2025 with barely a dip in momentum. Which makes the current silence around Season 3 unusual. Franchises this size don't normally go quiet; this one has.
Here's what's actually confirmed as of this writing: nothing. A-1 Pictures hasn't announced a Season 3, hasn't given a premiere window, and hasn't released a teaser or key visual. The studio and producer Atsushi Kaneko have both stayed notably quiet on the subject, which is its own kind of signal — usually a franchise this profitable gets a 'more to come' title card within weeks of a finale, not months of silence.
That silence has left room for a lot of speculation to fill the gap. Because Season 1 and Season 2 both premiered in January, plenty of fans assumed Season 3 would simply follow the same calendar in January 2027. Other reports have pointed to a 2027–2028 window, reportedly based on financial filings from the franchise's publisher rather than anything A-1 Pictures itself has said. Treat both as rough guesses, not dates worth building a watch party around — until the studio confirms something directly, there's no official timeline at all.
There's also persistent chatter about a Solo Leveling film landing before the next season, echoing how the -ReAwakening- recap film arrived ahead of Season 2. It's a plausible pattern for the franchise to repeat, but as of now it's rumor, not an announced project.
On the story side, there's no shortage of material left to adapt — Season 2 left off with Sung Jinwoo's position solidified after Jeju, and the source material still has guild politics, an international crisis arc, and the eventual war with the Monarchs ahead of it. Whenever Season 3 does get confirmed, it isn't going to be the franchise's last.
